  3. From what I've read so far, this book has been very enjoyable to read and contains lots of plot twists so you never know what's coming. It's full of interesting conflicts and the pictures that appear add an extra depth to the story, and makes you question if things are real or are just hallucinations. I predict that Emma and Miller are going to lead Jacob to find Miss Peregrine and she will help him find clues and solve mysteries about the late Grandpa Portman. "...trying to figure out what I would say to Miss Peregrine when I saw her." (Pg. 80 Paragraph 5) This quote could be a form of foreshadowing, telling the readers that there are future events to come. This also shows you how much Jacob is wanting to meet Miss Peregrine, and that he is needing answers to help solve the mysteries of Grandpa Portman.

  5. From what I have read so far these past few weeks I have really enjoyed the strange detail and story line. The book is very intriguing, rare and is full of many mysteries and secrets needing to be discovered. One thing that has really stood out and interested me are the photographs. They make the story more real and teach me more about the horrific events taking place. I am very fascinated in this book and can't wait to see what other events take place. One prediction I have is when Jacob first met Emma she instantly freaked and put a knife to his throat. She kept yelling at him and asking him to show his "real" eyes. Jacob wasn't sure what she meant because he was showing his real eyes. I believe that this will have some type of twist in the story. It seems like Emma is very worried about his eyes and so I feel that not having the "real" eyes she's talking about will be a threat later in the book. “When someone won't let you in, eventually you stop knocking.” In the book this talks about when Jacobs dad talks about his connection with his father. It does a really good job describing his none excitant relationship with his father growing up. It shows that they never had a relationship even though Jacobs fad always tried to. I chose this quote because it represents how grandpa Portman didn't have a good relationship with his son.

  6. Chapters 3-6:
During these past few weeks of reading this book, I have enjoyed the story line and all of the strange details in it. The book has an intriguing plot line that is full of mysteries and secrets that are yet to be explored. The photographs in this book are very odd, making me more interested and able to visualize the peculiar children much better. I am very engrossed in this book and can't wait to see what horrific events in this book are waiting to take place.I predict that later in this book his grandfather's past will unfold and the secrets of his life will connect with Miss Peregrine, the peculiar children, and the monsters that supposedly killed his grandfather in the beginning of the book. I wonder what has happened to Jacob after going into the bog and why he is back in the year 1942? “We cling to our fairy tales until the price for believing in them becomes too high.” I chose this quote because it has so many different meanings and connections to our lives. In the book, Jacob loved to believe all of his grandfathers amazing and strange experiences. As Jacob grew, he started to see the flaws in the photographs and the impossible stories he knew so well. In school, he was made fun of for believing these stories and decided that the price of clinging to fairy tales was too high. As children, we do not want to let go of the simple fairy tales that create wonder and happiness in our lives. However, we all have a time in our lives when we decide to let go of our fantasies and focus on reality.

  9. My response to Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children Chapters 3-6:
So far in this book I have really enjoyed the pictures that have been included. I think these pictures have added depth to the stories and the characters. When the author describes this amazing super human person, then it shows the person
I makes it feel more real. Also the peculiarity of these photos gives the book a mysterious feel to it. I have a prediction that the monsters that Jacob believed he saw murder his grandfather, actually murdered his grandfather. Almost every other character in the story told him he was crazy and that other animals actually murdered him. I think that the monster is linked to the peculiar world Jacob stumbled into and is going to play an important part later in the book. The quote I picked from the book is "two masked ruffled-collared kids who seemed to feeding each other a coil of ribbon. I did not know what they were suppose to be other than fuel for nightmares". I picked this quote because it does a really good job building of image of these two kids in our head. while I read this you can picture these two mysteriously odd looking boys feed each other.
